i wrote a lot of things for this second entry. i was on a irl break, so i played a lot more games than normal. needy girl overdose, princess maker 1 and 2, started uneven dream, and and lots of 2kki. a few days after the break ended i found out on accident that hypnospace outlaw was five bucks. now i've finally played it. that's been HIGH on the list for years. to be honest, my old thought was ''i'll play it when the sequel comes out.'' and well, it got canned. but even if it didn't, or somehow something funny happens, playing what i got now is better than waiting. there's a lot of things over the years i've put in ''i should read/play/watch at some point queue. then, since back then i rarely followed though. that's a mindset i've been changed. but now when i actually get it done i realize i woulda liked it more back then. hypnospace is the opposite.
most of this blog will be about gaming, though i'm keeping 2kki out of the MIX! since i talked about it and yume games last the time. I'm 85% complete, 220 hours in at the moment. i just learned how to use the bat effect so i can go to voxel islands. (i thought flying was when the marker was left, not the first space bar hit oops.)
i did the to completion lcd d**. i'd heard it was one of the more loved fan games and apparently has a strange backstory regarding its release history. i thought it was a fine time, but nothing i'd go back to. the day i played it i needed a distraction from some dumbass shit and it served me well in that regard. i think i have played all of the big fangames now to some extent. the only one i didn't finish was answered prayers. i didn't like it much and decided i'd try again when the next update comes along.
the way i'll be making this blogs is to just write shit like i would on bluesky/twitter just in a text doc and then round up what's interesting when enough material appears. so, random thoughts:
-some monogatari promotion is going on and half of the girls got the most adorable goth outfits. like, might be enough to buy figures of them. (though i got like 10 now, i don't need many more....) hanekawa's new fit made me like purple for the first time in my life.
-i'm not buying anything new for my itabeya at the moment because i'm saving money for the zakuro and yuki figures. though i'm seeing some people freak out over some other company taking hold of the manufacturing. apparently they botched a saya figure to hell in back. well, i'm holding out hope on this one. i really, really, want these and i'm planning on buying them preorder. i've never done that before and unless an ayana or some type of shudo anime (and i mean from shudo's actual episodes, not just the properties.) comes out then i think i'm good. that'll be like 12 figures. i'll go back to decorating my walls.
-speaking of anime, in a way, something insane happened. i had a normal dude irl recommend me made the in abyss anime.... they aren't supposed to recommended that one, right????????????? they're supposed to recommend shit like spy family and dbz? it was pretty cool and i respect it the change in pace though it was also a blindsided. would have never picked up on him watching that.
will i watch it? probably not lol. i've known about it for years and nothing about it has piqued my interest. to be real honest, i don't discuss my ttrue astes outside of these digital walls. people don't watch godard movies and read tails gets trolled. if you say takeshi shudo you have to say "head writer for the first season of pokemon" and people don’t really get it. fuck, i can't explain subahibi or tamers. i pretend i'm a gamer and use what i played in high school if i'm forced into that line of conversation. lucky me, hypnospace might be a much need notch in that belt.
-chicken or the egg type beat. i've never been a fan of the battle pokemon anime episodes. just, prefer the other ones. and of course, the season 1 variety. this is how i am with everything to be honest. with shudo pokemon being such a fundamental piece of my brain chemistry, did i get this FROM shudo's pokemon or was this natural and happen to align with his thoughts on the battles? (he didn't like pokemon fighting way more than i do to be honest.)
-something i'm noticing from certain fans of zombie pokemon seasons is some of them haven't figured out they don't like the show anymore because its changed writing styles. this is kind of a newer development. but since there's been four head writers since shudo. (or really five, someone technically had to be doing some sort of head writing duty for gs and AG????? idk.) with their styles being different, each of them produced different types of series. i was going to write more on this but i don't think people are ready to for the conversation of shudo is only good head writer pokemon ever had and why. so, we'll leave it at the point of the thought. if i was to ever make some form of scripted youtube videos, at some point would have to make some video titled it'd be my own version of ''we have accepted mediocrity. “ relating to the decline of writing quality in the show.
-i've been trying to install an older version of 2kki and really failing with the RTP. i decided to keep my old computer's operating system in japanese and it's interesting to see how different the buttons commands are. kinda feels like i'm using another operating system. though, this is how japnanese computers work, i guess. i love that they have the letter after the command. ''shut down (s)''. makes it eaiser for me to figure out what the fuck i should be doing in this infantile stage in my jp learning.
i wrote way more for this blog and decided the other half is so different from this part it’d be best to split it up. i have no hard limits on how long a blog can be, but i wanna keep them around 1-2 text pages. so next time, neon’s irl break gaming special.
